Virgil Floyd Ocheskey, age 92, of Bonnots Mill passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born October 15, 1917, in Morrison, MO, a son to` the late Herman and Alice (Cramer) Ocheskey. He attended school in Morrison and has been a life long resident of Osage County.
On June 27, 1945, Virgil was united in marriage to Ada Victoria Rippstein in Bonnots Mill, MO. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. Ada survives at Autumn Meadows in Linn.
Virgil was a farmer but had been employed with the Missouri Pacific Railroad and had been a truck driver for Missouri Distributors out of Jefferson City. He was a member of the Missouri Trap Shooter Association.
The joys of his life were his wife Ada, along with his family, farming, feeding his cattle, trap shooting, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by: two sons, Gordon Ocheskey and his wife Sharon of Bonnots Mill and, Karl Ocheskey and his wife Dianne of Crystal Lake, IL; six grandchildren, Rhonda Rackers and her husband Bruce, Curt Ocheskey, Brian Ocheskey and his wife Gayla, Brad Ocheskey and his wife Sheila, Laci Greer and her husband Jerry, and Jessica Ocheskey; 13 great-grandchildren, Rachelle, Jeffrey, Morgan, Victoria, Parson, Bryant, Derek, Drew, Karlee, Brenna, Benjamin, Jenny, and Rikki; one great-great-grandchild, Kadyn; three sisters, Dorothy Hackmann, Colleen Byrd, and Shirley Epple.
Virgil was preceded in death by: two brothers, Roland Ocheskey and his wife, Leona, and Howard Ocheskey and his wife Elaine; one sister, Maybelle Ocheskey Scheidegger; one brother-in-law, Vernon Hackmann.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Interment will follow at Verdot Cemetery in Bonnots Mill.
