Verla M. Franklin age 75 of Linn passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 at her residence.
Verla was born on June 17, 1934 in Linn, a daughter to the late Leonard and Opal (Litton) Hassler.
Verla was married to Ronald L. Franklin in Ashland. He survives of the home.
Verla owned and operated a number of motels as well as working for the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a clerk.
Verla enjoyed gardening, traveling and camping. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linn.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son; Larry R. and his wife Patricia Branson of Centertown, one daughter; Pam Carmichael and her husband Bob of Topeka, KS, two step-sons; Steve Franklin of Moberly and Ricky and his wife Virginia Franklin of Moberly, one step daughter; Rhonda Franklin of Moberly, two sisters; Irene Wolfe of Linn, Velma Johnston of the state of Washington, 4 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Verla was preceded in death by one sister.
A Memorial Gathering will take place from 6:00pm-7:30pm Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Morton Chapel in Linn.
