Thomas A. Kauffman, age 75, of Bonnots Mill, passed away due to COVID-19 on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Thomas was born December 5, 1944, in Jefferson City, a son to the late William J. and Leona B. (Rademan) Kauffman.
Tom was a 1962 graduate of Helias High School and a 1967 graduate of Lincoln University with a bachelor’s degree in Business.
On July 3, 2012, he was united in marriage to Debby Brown in Eureka Springs, AR. She survives at their home.
Tom worked for IBM for 30 years and retired in 1992. He was also owner/operator of Kauffman Enterprise a construction company.
He was a member of St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill, and a lifetime member Knights of Columbus Council #2027.
Thomas enjoyed being a farmer, raising black angus cattle, reading the newspaper, and going to the lake house. He loved talking to friends and spending time with his family and grandkids. He never knew a stranger.
In addition to his wife Debby of 8 years, Thomas is survived by: two daughters, Susan Robinson and her husband Randy of San Antonio, TX, and Darla DeSpain and her husband John of Jefferson City; eight grandchildren, Rachel Gose and her husband Phillip, Dean Robinson, Ryan Robinson, Justin White, Jake White, Joshua White, Gabriel Gonder, and Benjamin Gonder; two brothers, Dick Kauffman and his wife Rhonda of Elston and Ken Kauffman of Jefferson City; one sister, Hariett Martin and her husband Nick of Miami, FL; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. I.C. Medina officiating. Interment will be in St. Louis of France Parish Cemetery.
Facial coverings and social distancing are required while in attendance.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Helias High School.
