Shirley May Jarvis

Shirley May Jarvis, age 69 of Linn, Mo passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at St Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

She was born on March 15, 1939 in Bland to the late Ray and Clara (Brandt) Hassler.

Shirley attended school in Bland. On April 6, 1957 she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Jarvis in Bland. He survives of the home.

Shirley worked as a housekeeper for 25 years at the Land of Lincoln Motel in Granite City, IL. She and her husband moved to Linn in 1993 where she worked for the next 10 years at Autumn Meadows Nursing Home as a CNA.

She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, gardening, watching birds and spending time with her family. She attended the Oklahoma Church of Christ as well as the Community Christian Church in Linn.

Additional survivors include; two sons, Jerry and Wayne Jarvis both of Linn, one daughter, Brenda O'Dell of Linn. Three brothers; Orville and his wife Ann Hassler of Washington, Don Hassler of Bland and Jim and his wife Pete Hassler of the Lake of the Ozarks, two sisters; Lee and her husband Al Stuesse of Bland and Norma Shanks of Washington. Four grandchildren; Christin and her husband Ron Bischoff, Cara O'Dell and, Casey O'Dell all of Linn and Adam Jarvis of Mitchell, IL. Three great grandchildren; Brenden and Vanessah Bischoff and Jamison Kraus all of Linn. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by one sister Juanita Wheeler.

Visitation will be 4pm-8pm on Monday, October 13, 2008 at the Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Community Christian Church in Linn. Burial will follow in the Oklahoma Church Cemetery
