Roseline “Rose” Voss, age 87, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born on February 4, 1934, in Rich Fountain, a daughter to the late Henry and Mary Jane (Radmacher) Mengwasser.
Rose graduated from Sacred Heart School in Rich Fountain.
On April 24, 1954, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Leonard J. Voss at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Leonard survives at their home.
Rose was a wonderful homemaker raising her seven children. Once all the children were in school, she went to work for Linn Manufacturing, McGraw Edison, Shopsmith, and Mosby in Linn until her retirement in 1999.
Rose was a very dedicated member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn and to St. Ann’s Sodality. She also volunteered at summer school at Linn R-2.
Rose enjoyed cooking for her family making sure no one left hungry, and she never threw out a piece of clothing that could be patched. She had a special gift of lifting people’s spirits if they were having a bad day. When she found time to relax, she enjoyed bowling, gardening, watching her television shows, and taking a John Deere gator ride with Leonard to go check the cattle. She also enjoyed going for a drive with Leonard to the farm, to check the river level or just going for a Sunday drive in the country.
Rose was a very devoted Catholic, beginning each day praying the Rosary with Leonard before she began her daily tasks.
In addition to her spouse of 67 years, Rose is survived by her seven children: Sharon Monroe and her husband Keith of Linn, Lennie Voss and his wife Brenda of Loose Creek, JoAnn Campbell of Linn, Bonnie Kliethermes and her husband Rodney of Linn, Judy Starr and her husband Jim of Columbia, John Voss of Linn and Gary Voss and his wife Jaimi of Jefferson City; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren with one on the way; a brother, Norbert Mengwasser of Rich Fountain; a sister, Bernadine Pope of Rich Fountain; a sister-in-law, Leona Mengwasser of Jefferson City along with numerous nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends.
