Rose Marie Anderson, age 89 of Linn, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, at General Baptist Nursing Home of Linn.
Rose was born on March 1, 1928, in Linn, a daughter to the late Mike and Rosie (Voss) Boes.
Rose was a 1946 graduate of Linn High School.
On May 1, 1948, she was united in marriage to William H. “Bill” Anderson at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2014.
She was employed at University Extension for several years before working for USDA Farmer’s Home Administration for nearly 40 years. Rose loved her work and never met a stranger.
Rose was a member of St. George Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Sodality, Linn VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Catholic Financial.
Rose enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling, going to BJ’s Restaurant, and loved spending time with her family.
Rose is survived by: one son, Gary Anderson and his wife Nadine of Linn; four granddaughters, Jessica Anderson of Rolla, Julie Painter and her husband Travis of Peoria, IL, Ashley Anderson of Linn, and Kristen Hartmann and her husband Kevin of Jefferson City; three great grandchildren, Landon and Oliver Painter and Kennedy Hartmann; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and her spouse of 65 years, Rose was preceded in death by: three sisters, Janet Vossen, Julietta Jacquin, and Betty Wolfe; and two brothers, Louis and Joe Boes.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with Fr. Daniel Merz as the celebrant. Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Church or the Linn VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
