Robert “Bob” F. Grellner, age 78 of Rich Fountain, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, at MU Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Bob was born September 29, 1945, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Albert and Mary (Bock) Grellner.
Bob was a 1963 graduate of Fatima High School. He proudly served in the United State Army Reserves.
On October 12, 1968, he was united in marriage to Helen Welschmeyer at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg. She survives at the home.
Bob worked as a glass cutter at Quaker Windows in Freeburg for 45 years before retiring in 2009.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. Bob enjoyed coin collecting, arrowhead hunting, listening to old radio shows and jazz, and loved shopping going down every aisle of the store. Bob liked to go fishing and hunting for squirrels as well as cooking and baking. He and Helen would go to Jefferson City and watch the trains, made several trips to Branson over the years, and loved going to flea markets. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to his spouse of 55 years, Bob is survived by: two sons, Doug Grellner of Linn and Darren “Donger” (Jeanna Monroe-Lansford) Grellner of Linn; a son-in-law, Joe Kremer of Loose Creek; two brothers, Fred Grellner of Linn and George (Bernadette) Grellner of Rich Fountain; a sister-in-law, Helen M. Grellner of Rich Fountain; ten grandchildren, Loni (Mike) Clawson, Trampus (Angie) Rowden, Garrett (Molly) Grellner, Molly (Anon) Grellner-Anderson, Gavin Grellner, Connor Kremer, Adrienne and Cullen Lansford; as well many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Kremer; daughter-in-law, Linda Grellner; a brother, Ambrose Grellner and a sister-in-law, Veronica Grellner.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. William Debo as the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Sacred Heart Church Endowment Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
