Richard D. Thomas, age 34 of Poplar Bluff, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, at the St. Louis University Hospital.
Richard was born February 12, 1976, in Poplar Bluff a son to David and Janet (Gowen) Thomas of Poplar Bluff.
Richard attended school in Poplar Bluff and had been employed for several years at Jeff's Custom Kitchens.
He loved the outdoors and hunting, but his biggest love was spending time with his children. He attended the Abundant Life Christian Center in Poplar Bluff.
In addition to his parents, Richard is survived by: his wife, Laryn, two sons, Trenton and Corban and a daughter, Candace, all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Trisha and her husband Chance Whitehead of Poplar Bluff, and Amy and her husband Jake Crane of Salem IN; his maternal grandparents, Bonnie and her husband Archie Johnson of Poplar Bluff; his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Lou McPherson of Poplar Bluff; his maternal great grandmother, Letha Cattron and Carl Randall; and his maternal great grandparents, Ole and his wife Martha Gowen as well as aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Gowen.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2010, at the Abundant Life Christian Center, 1888 Bradley Street in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2010, at the church with the Rev. David Bentley officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the family or to the Richard Thomas Children's Fund.
