Richard "Dick" Ruettgers

 

Richard “Dick” J. Ruettgers, age 78 of Loose Creek, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.

 

Dick was born 12/ 12/1940, in Loose Creek, a son to the late Henry and Eleanor (Kremer) Ruettgers.

 

Dick was a 1958 graduate of Fatima High School.

 

On October 15, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary Fassbinder at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos.  She survives of the home.

 

Dick worked as an Operations Manager for Three Rivers Electric for 33 years before retiring. 

 

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, Loose Creek Community Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2693 and Sons of the Legion. 

 

Dick enjoyed camping at Bennett Springs, going to deer camp, tailgating at footballs games, raising steers and butchering, and keeping everything neat on the farm. When he was able, Dick would use his tractor to clear the snow at the church and the cemetery for funerals in Loose Creek. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

In addition to his spouse of 59 years, Dick is survived by: one son, Darryl Ruettgers and his wife Dianne of Taos; two daughters, Denise Wolfe and her husband Rick of Loose Creek and Donna Klott and her husband Danny of Krakow; two sisters, Marilyn Kelsey of Liberty and Kathy Dudenhoeffer and her husband Ralph of Linn; seven grandchildren, Bradley (Danielle) Wolfe, Brandon (Nicole) Wolfe, Breann Wolfe, Jamie (Joe) Schwob, Todd (Chessa) Ruettgers, Jeffrey (Erin) Klott, and Jodi Klott (finance Dylan Bielicke); eight great grandchildren, Mason, Camden, and Korbin Wolfe, August, Colton, and Elizabeth Schwob, and Jane and Mark Klott; a brother-in-law, Kenny Schreiman of Linn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by: three sisters, Betty Schreiman, Gerry Kresl and an infant sister, Anna; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Kresl and Louis Kelsey.  

 

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2019, at Morton Chapel in Linn. 

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. Callistus C. Okoroji as the celebrant.  Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
