Philip H. Nilges, age 89 of Linn, Mo passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Autumn Meadows Skilled Care Facility in Linn.
Philip was born Sunday, September 28, 1919 in Linn, a son to the late John and Frona (Lock) Nilges. He attended school in Linn.
On October 10, 1941 he was united in marriage to Lillian Kemmer in Linn. She survives.
Philip farmed and worked in the maintaince department at Linn R-2 schools and also for Linn Technical College before finally retiring in 2002 at the age of 82.
He enjoyed fishing, mowing and weed eating his lawn as well as woodworking. He was a member of St. George Church in Linn.
In addition to his wife, Philip is survived by one son; Gary and his wife Agnes Nilges of Linn and one daughter; Phyllis Orscheln and her husband Don of Linn, one sister; Evelyn Thompson and her husband Tommy of Tyler, Tx. Four grandchildren; Andrea Bethune, Emily Late, Aaron Nilges and Andrew Orscheln as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be 8:30am-10:30am Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Morton Chapel in Linn. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am in the funeral home chapel with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.
