Peter “Pete” C. Gove, 65, of Columbia formerly of Linn, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020, at The Bluffs in Columbia.

Pete was born on October 13, 1954, in St. Louis, a son to the late Clemment C. and Adelaide B. (Bockhorst) Gove. 

Pete was a 1973 graduate of Linn High School.  He graduated with an associate degree from Washington University and a bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University.  Pete proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Pete had a mission in life to help veterans get the assistance they needed.  He was a member and served as the Chapter Service Officer for the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17 in Jefferson City. 

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and David Gove and two sisters, Karen Gove and Valeria “Missy” Day. 

Graveside Service and Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2019, at the Linn Public Cemetery in Linn. 

A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the Disabled American Veterans Hall 5054 Monticello Road Jefferson City, Mo.  65109.

In Lieu of Flowers, expression of sympathy may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17 PO Box 261 Jefferson City, Mo 65102.

Arrangements are under the direction of Morton Chapel, Linn, Missouri (897-2214)
