Pauline M. Bescheinen, age 102, of Loose Creek, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Stonebridge in Westphalia surrounded by her loving family.
Pauline was born May 15, 1921, a daughter to the late John Gustave and Mary (Mertens) Kremer.
Pauline attended school at Immaculate Conception in Loose Creek.
On May 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to Hubert Anton Bescheinen at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. They celebrated 76 wonderful years together.
During World War II she was employed as a nanny in St. Louis. In September of 1948, Pauline and Hubert started their radio repair business which led to sales and service and then to television and appliances. By 1957, the business was growing, and furniture was added. They continued to operate the business until 1982 when they retired, and their sons took over the daily operations.
Pauline was very involved in the Loose Creek community. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and sang in the choir, St. Ann’s Sodality, St. Ann’s Sewing Circle, 4-H Leader, member of the German Heritage Society, and was a charter member of the Osage County Historical Society.
She enjoyed quilting, baking, making wedding cakes, gardening, canning, and making homemade jelly. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her spouse of 76 years, Pauline is survived by: three children, Vivian Carwile and her husband Larry of Loose Creek, Marvin Bescheinen and his wife Elaine of Versailles and Steve Bescheinen and his wife Suzanne of Loose Creek; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Zach) Wright, Mathias (Emma) Bescheinen, Brittanie (Jake) Dudenhoeffer, Jennifer (Terrence) Lujin, Aaron (Deborah) Bescheinen, Candice (John) Marshall, Justin (Abby) Carwile, and Christopher (Sara) Carwile; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Sylvester (Evelyn) Kremer of Bonnots Mill; two sisters, Margaret Kremer and Agnes Muenks both of Jefferson City; two sisters-in-law, Mary Esther Kremer of Loose Creek and Margaret Kliethermes of Wardsville; two brothers-in-law, Alvin Toebben of St. Martins and Herman Massman of Jefferson City; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a grandson, Adam Carwile; four sisters, Clara Backes, Generose Toebben, Elizabeth Massman, and Theresa Haslag; and a brother, Aloysius “Bud” Kremer.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Tony Rinaldo as the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Immaculate Conception School Foundation.
