Patty Sue Decker, age 77, of Linn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Patty was born on December 20, 1945, in Dillard, a daughter to the late Treffic and Hilma (Davis) Adams.
In February of 1986, she was united in marriage to Melvin Decker in Linn. They were together for 57 years.
Patty was employed as a cook for most of her life in the Linn Community. She retired from the Linn School District.
Patty was a member of Linn First Church.
Patty enjoyed singing country music, crocheting and she was a collector of rooster, hens, and chick’s figurines. She was the glue that held the family together. She was known for taking care of everyone before herself and making sure you felt better by making you laugh. Spending time with her family was the most important part of her life.
In addition to her husband, Patty is survived by her six children: Jerry Gamblin and his wife Tammy of Linn, Penny Johnston and her husband Sam of Wayland, Michigan, Gordon Gamblin and his wife Yvonne of New Braunfeld, Tx., Bobby Gamblin and his wife Carol of Horn Lake, MS., Debbie Neuner and her husband Mike of Linn and Veronica Decker of Cuba; two brothers, Arnold Adams of Arnold and Gordan Adams of St. Clair; sixteen grandchildren: Jerry Gamblin, II., Danica Poston, Elizabeth Gamblin, Darren Gamblin, Hunter Gamblin, Jeremiah Gamblin, Joshua Gamblin, Samuel Johnston, Steven Gamblin, Brittiny Gamblin, Jessica Clark, Melissa Huckabee, Kassidy Gamblin, Dustin Rawlings, Angel Rawlings, and Terry Gingerich; twenty one great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Decker; one brother, Roger Adams and three sisters, Mary Wilson, Mary Burton Rowena, and Roberta Clayton.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Linn First with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Matt Lee officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Old Dillard Cemetery in Dillard.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
