Norbert J. Dill, Sr., age 87, of Rich Fountain, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla.
Norbert was born on May 11, 1929, in Rich Fountain, a son to the late Henry and Cecilia (Luecke) Dill.
Norbert attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from November of 1951 until November of 1953.
On November 26, 1953, he was united in marriage to Florentine D. (Eisterhold) Dill at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. She survives of the home.
Norbert was employed with the MFA #280 in Freeburg for 44 years as a feed truck driver and later the feed mill operator.
Norbert was a lifelong and very devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.
Norbert was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed his Hereford cattle and his Ford tractors. When you could not find him with his cattle or on his tractor, he enjoyed going squirrel hunting. He was an avid bingo player during his stay at the Mo. Veterans Home in St. James. However, his greatest love was the time spent with his family.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by: four sons, Stanley Dill of Rich Fountain, David Dill and his wife Lona of Linn, Norbert G. Dill, Jr., and his wife Christy of Rich Fountain and Gregory Dill of Rich Fountain; one daughter, Christine C. Fick and her husband Kenneth of Rich Fountain; three brothers, Richard Dill and his wife Mary of St. Louis, Elmer Dill and his wife Ann of St. Louis and Leander Dill and his wife Nancy of Linn; one sister, Leoba Haller of St. Louis; 5 grandchildren, Derek Fick, Jennifer Fick, Erin Fick, Tracy Dill and Katrina Dill, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Norbert was preceded in death by his step-mother, Baptista Dill.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with Fr. William Debo as the celebrant. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic School.
