Nancy Jane Jaegers, age 72 of Bonnots Mill, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City surrounded by family and friends.
Nancy was born May 14, 1947, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Lawrence L. and Helen Marie (Knaebel) Scheppers.
Nancy attended Immaculate Conception School, Helias High School and was a 1965 graduate Jefferson City High School.
On November 6, 1965, she was united in marriage to Harold Jaegers at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City. He survives of the home.
Nancy was employed as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s Hospital and Von Hoffman in Jefferson City until 1973, when she decided to stay home with the children.
Nancy was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein, Linn Lions Club, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Linn Nutrition Center where she and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels.
She enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal games with her husband Harold, watching the Hallmark Channel during the Christmas season, crafts like crocheting and making rosaries, collecting items such as, beanie babies, salt and pepper shakers and Mickey Mouse items. Nancy was always willing to lend a helping hand and liked spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her spouse of 54 years, Nancy is survived by: two daughters, Mary (Cody) Beadenkopf of Moravian Falls, NC and Melanie Wolfe of Linn; 13 Grandchildren, Adam, Curtis, Lauren, Sydney, and Lily Strope, Lane (Brittny), Lori and Cody Wolfe, Zoey and Annabell Jaegers, and Chip, Joshua, and Nevaeh Beadenkopf; three great grandchildren, Nora, Ryker and Spencer Wolfe; three brothers, Larry (Paula) Scheppers of Linn, Tom (Diane) Scheppers of Wardsville, and Bob (Julie) Scheppers of Wardsville; five sisters, Ginny Massman of Frankenstein, Marian (Bernie) Forck of Chamois, Sharon (Dave) Vieth of Taos, Franny (Butch) Schell of Wardsville and Carol (Tom) Backes of St. Thomas; a sister-in-law, Alvina Jaegers Matthews and her husband Charlie as well as many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a son, Michael Jaegers, a sister, Agnes Wieberg, father-in-law and mother-in-law, August and Bernadine Maassen Jaegers, three brothers-in-law, Harry Jaegers, Henry Wieberg and Gil Massman and one sister-in-law, Janet Jaegers.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with Fr. Daniel Merz as the Celebrant. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
