Melinda Lee Hopkins

Melinda L. Hopkins, age 50, of Chamois, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Melinda was born July 13, 1961, in Kennett, MO, to the late David Hopkins Sr. and Peggy (Green) Hopkins who survives in Kennett.

Melinda attended school at Ritenour High School in St. Louis and had worked as a cook.

She enjoyed cooking, video games, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by: one daughter, Amanda Hopkins and her finance` Cameron Smith both of Chamois; one brother, David Hopkins, Jr. of Chamois; two grandchildren and two nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jeffrey Hopkins.

A celebration of Melinda's life will be held from noon until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at the Lions Club Complex in the Chamois City Park.
