Mary Ann Kremer

Mary Ann Kremer, age 92 of Frankenstein, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Lenoir Woods Senior Living Community in Columbia.

Mary Ann was born January 29, 1930, in Valley Park, MO, the only daughter of Michael and Annie (Hanley Bengel) Broker.

Mary Ann was a 1947 graduate of Frankenstein High School. She was united in marriage to Wilfred “Ferdie” Kremer on October 29, 1949, at Our Lady Help of Christians church in Frankenstein. He survives of the home.

Mary Ann lived nearly all 72 years of their marriage on the family farm just south of Frankenstein as a dedicated housewife and she lovingly raised seven children. In addition to her household and farm chores, she diligently served as caregiver to many relatives and friends in the community, driving them to medical appointments or taking care of the sick in their homes were among her many commitments.

After all the kids had left home, she worked for the Missouri National Guard and volunteered at the Central Missouri Food Bank (now Good Shepard Food Bank) in Linn. Mary Ann was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians church in Frankenstein, a member of the Alter Society and an avid contributor to all social events held by the parish throughout the year. This included providing baked goods and embroidered linens, helping with quilting, and most famously calling bingo at summer and fall picnics.

Mary Ann enjoyed baking, embroidery, collecting coins, dancing, playing the Lotto, and going to the casino where she always had a good time with her daughters and friends, and almost always came away a winner.

Most of all, Mary Ann enjoyed every opportunity spent with family and friends. She treasured time with her husband, siblings, seven children, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was a dedicated and reliable mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and caring friend to all.

In addition to her husband of 72 years, Mary Ann is survived by her children, Robert (Mo) Kremer of Columbia, Joyce (Mark) Weidinger of Vienna, Deb Hammond of Plano, TX, Russ Kremer of Frankenstein, Karen (Glenn) Muenks of Loose Creek, Marie (Wynn) Searle of Lewisville, TX, and Roberta (Jason) Rader of Springfield; one brother, Mike (Loretta) Broker, Jr. of Russellville; grandchildren, Andy Kremer, Erin Moore, Angie Schwartze, Kelley Hagemeyer, David Weidinger, Connor Muenks, Claire Muenks, Anna Rader and Jeremy Rader as well as her great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe, Ted, Vince, Gene, Lawrence, and Larry Broker.
