Mary Lou Broman, age 78, of Linn passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010, at her residence.

Mary Lou was born February 19, 1932, in Davenport, IA, a daughter to the late Lee Robert and Gertrude (Larson) Viers.

She attended school in Davenport, Iowa and graduated from Davenport High School in 1950.
Mary Lou received her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Iowa in 1954.

On September 6, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Broman in Davenport, IA. He survives at the home.

In 1963, Mary Lou and Don moved to Linn where she was employed at Linn R-II School District for 15 years and then with Linn Technical College for 11 years until her retirement in 1995. Mary Lou then became the office manager for her husband's business, Broman Chiropractic Center until 2001.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Linn Lions Club, Linn Community Teachers Association, Missouri State Teachers Association, Missouri Vocational Association, and Missouri Business Education Association. She organized and sponsored the Future Business Leaders of America and was a member of the Women's Club for over 20 years.

Mary Lou enjoyed bird watching, flowers, singing in the church choir and at Autumn Meadows, playing cards with her friends of the card club and finding items for her "Snoopy Room" which contains over 1,500 different items of Snoopy and his friends.

In addition to her husband, Mary Lou is survived by: one son, Bradley Broman of Ashland; one daughter, Lori Garrett of Columbia; two grandchildren, Carlton Broman and Kenny Stieferman and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: one sister, Betty Lee Hinckley.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm, Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 15, 2010, at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Linn with Rev. John Swatosh officiating. Interment will follow in Linn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to a Good Sheperd Food Pantry, Alzheimer's Association or Linn State Technical College Scholarship Fund.
