Mary L Brockman

Mary L. Brockman, age 64 of Loose Creek, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Mary was born January 10, 1959, in St. Louis, a daughter to her adoptive parents, Dennis and Judy Skaggs.  They survive at their home.

Mary was employed at Scholastic in Jefferson City for over 30 years.

Mary loved horseback riding and was involved in the local Hoof-a-thon rides for many years. She also made beautiful crochet afghans and enjoyed sewing and needle point.  Mary was a good-hearted person who worked hard and loved eating out at local restaurants. 

In addition to her adoptive parents, Mary is survived by: four brothers, Michael DeLuca of St. Louis, Peter DeLuca of High Ridge, Patrick Skaggs of Nevada, Mo., Todd Skaggs of Wapakoneta, OH; one sister, Jane Brockman; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis “Mike” Skaggs, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo as the Celebrant.  Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Fairview Heights, IL. 

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
