Mary Elizabeth Ashby

Mary Elizabeth Ashby, age 86, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at SSM Heath St. Mary’s in Jefferson City.

Mary was born January 26, 1938, in Kearney, Missouri, a daughter to the late Joseph Carter and Nellie Elmyra (Danner) Thompson.

On February 24, 1957, she was united in marriage to Charles W. Ashby in Liberty, Missouri. Charles preceded her in death of September 3, 2003.

Mary was a mortgage officer in the banking industry for many years.

She was of the Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church in Linn for many years.

Mary was an artist and loved to read.

Mary is survived by her stepdaughter, Thresea, three grandchildren and loved by many family members. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, she will be cremated with a private burial in the Linn Public Cemetery.
