Marvin Hugh Leimkiller

Marvin Hugh Leimkiller, age 87, of Chamois, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his home with family by his side.

Marvin was born April 15, 1937, in Chamois, the son of Earl and Anna (Reynolds) Leimkiller. Marvin attended grade school at Liberty in Chamois and graduated from Chamois High School in 1954.

After High School Marvin worked at the Oberman Factory in Chamois and worked for Linn Manufacturing; he also baled hay for local farmers. In 1958, Marvin joined the United States Army and served his country for 18 months. In 1960, he was given a hardship discharge in order to return to help on the family farm, this came shortly after his older brother had passed away. Upon his return, Marvin met Janice M. Cooper of Bland, they were united in marriage on October 22, 1961. They purchased a farm in the Linn area where they raised their children, Dale and Debbie. Marvin would always say “have a place for everything and put everything in its place”.

Marvin attended Linn Tech where he earned a Vocational Automotive Technician Degree. He also attended Lincoln University and General Motors Training Center where he received his Teaching Certification. He spent a career in the automotive field working for the Kliethermes Ford Dealership and later teaching Auto Mechanics for 21 years at Fatima High School in Westphalia. Throughout his working career, Marvin found time to maintain his Linn Farm and the Chamois Family Farm. Marvin loved to hunt and fish. He raised honeybees and would be called if anyone found a bee tree.

Marvin's faith in God was very strong. He attended the Mint Hill Baptist Church where he made a profession of faith in Jesus. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Linn since October 1961. Over the years, he served in various offices of leadership to include teaching Sunday School and serving as an Ordained Deacon.

Despite being consumed by work and running two farms, Marvin always made time for family and vacations. He also maintained his great sense of humor and his friendly jokes always left those around him smiling. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Janice M. Leimkiller; a daughter, Debbie Orozco (Stuart) of Chamois; grandchildren: Zachary Picarello (Elizabeth) of Ocean Springs, MS., Megan Stansbury (Ethan) of Allen, TX., Sarah Eslahi (Tom), Pam Gilbert and Elaine Leimkiller of Jefferson City; great grandchildren, Dale and Alaura Hendrickson, Eli, Kaylee and Kainan Eslahi and Lance Gilbert of Jefferson City, Melina and Calvin Picarello of Ocean Springs, MS., Ruby and Cooper Stansbury of Allen, TX., along with a nephew, four nieces and many great nephews, great nieces and extended family.
