Martha A. Mengwasser

Martha A. Mengwasser, age 72, of Linn, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

She was born June 27, 1937 in Freeburg, MO a daughter to the late, Henry and Kunie (Holterman) Haller. Martha attended school in Freeburg.

On August 21, 1954 she was united in marriage to Victor Mengwasser in Rich Fountain. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1990.

Martha was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, gardening and farming.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain and St. George Church in Linn.
Martha was also a member of the Sacred Heart Quilting Circle and volunteered at the Good Shepherd Food Pantry.

Survivors include: two sons, Herman and his wife Faye Mengwasser and Leroy Mengwasser and his companion Linda Deppe of Freeburg; two daughters, Mary Holterman and her husband Alex of Freeburg and Pamela Borgmeyer and her husband Mark of Loose Creek; one brother, Albert Haller of Freeburg; one sister, Irene Laughlin of Freeburg; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by: one brother, Henry "Jim" Haller and one sister, Marie Boehmer.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Philip Niekamp as the celebrant.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
