Marie Schaefer Evers

Marie Schaefer Evers, age 80 of St. Martins formerly of Linn passed away Monday, April 6, 2009 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

She was born on July 4, 1928 in Belle to the late John Franklin and Fannie Louellen (Daggett) Letterman. She attended school in Belle.

Marie was united in marriage to William E. Schaefer and later married Joseph G. Evers on April 15, 1989 in Jefferson City. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. Marie also loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church.

Survivors include: six sons, Roger and his wife Viola Schaefer of Taos, Michael and his wife Gerrie Schaefer of Linn, Herbert Evers of Marys Home, Delbert and his wife Janis Evers of Marys Home, Edwin and his wife Robin Evers of Eldon, Christopher and his wife Tracy Evers of Eldon; five daughters, Joan and her husband Michael Morgan of Russellville, Joyce and her husband Dennis Dudenhoeffer of Chamois, Janice Brunstrom of Columbia, Judy and her husband Jeff Williams of St. Augustine, FL and Jackie and her husband John Prenger of Taos; one brother, Oscar and his wife Peggy Letterman of the State of Delaware and one sister-in-law Nadine Letterman of Jefferson City; 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Paul Schaefer, Steve Schaefer and Ernie Evers, one grandson, four sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at St. George Church with Fr. I.C. Medina officiating. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
