Marie Ann Davis, age 88, of Jefferson City, formerly of Frankenstein, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Marie was born on March 17, 1929, in Frankenstein, a daughter to the late Adolph and Anna (Samson) Kremer.
Marie was a 1947 graduate of Frankenstein High School.
On April 14, 1952, she was united in marriage to Milton B. Davis in Frankenstein. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2016.
Marie was a homemaker until her children were raised. After that she worked at LaGrange Federal Savings and Loan in LaGrange, IL. She retired in 1985 and they moved to Frankenstein where they lived until 2003 when they moved to Jefferson City.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City and enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking. She loved spending time on the beaches in Florida and she was a big animal lover.
Marie is survived by: one son, Michael Davis and his wife Ada of Schererville, IN; one daughter, Susan Smith and her husband Bernie of Longmont, CO; two grandchildren, Brady Smith and his wife Chandani Patel of Chicago, IL. and Sarah Smith of Westminster, CO.; a great granddaughter, Aashna Marie Patel Smith; a brother, Wilfred Kremer and his wife Mary Ann of Frankenstein; two sisters, Marcella Maassen and her husband Victor of St. Charles and Germaine Stromnes and her husband Magne of Oslo, Norway; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, spouse of 63 years, she was preceded in death by: one daughter, Mary Rossi; four sisters, Sr. Florence Kremer, Evelyn Troesser, Catherine Hamner and Roselyn Greaves.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel J. Merz as the celebrant. Interment will be in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery in Frankenstein.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
