Margaret Ann Boeckman, age 77, of Linn, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at the University Hospital in Columbia, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 17, 1932, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of John and Margaret Ann (Bemboom) Schepker.
She was united in marriage on January 8, 1956, in Hernando, Mississippi, to Henry Herman Boeckman, who survives at their home.
Margaret worked for Tweedies Shoe Factory in Jefferson City, Deb Shoe Factory in St. Clair and Carmo Shoe Factory in Union, Missouri. They owned and operated Dairy CrAme, a drive-in restaurant, from 1960 to 1965 in St. Clair and later moved to Gerald, Missouri and bought another drive-in and ran it for two years. She later returned to the shoe factory until it closed. After many years of work, she retired to enjoy the finer things in life which were traveling and fishing with Henry.
She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn. She was active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, spending time with her grandchildren, picking berries, baking pies, quilting, and dancing with her loving husband. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida with friends and the summers camping and fishing. Her grandchildren will remember her for her warm rolls and yummy chocolate chip cookies.
Survivors include: two stepsons, Jim Boeckman and wife Sandy, Bob Boeckman and wife Carole all of Jefferson City; two stepdaughters, Mary Kolb and husband Stanley of Wardsville, and Martha Fifer and husband Tom of Osage Bend; 10 grandchildren and 21.5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2009, at Morton Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Reverend I.C. Medina officiating. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Jefferson City.
The family request no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic Church in Linn or the VFW Auxiliary in Linn.
