Loretta J. Rustemeyer, age 90, of Linn, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Loretta was born on May 25, 1932, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late William and Angela (Brueggen) Ellebracht.
On May 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to Alfred H. Rustemeyer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Florissant. Alfred preceded her in death on November 19, 2013.
Loretta was a homemaker, who was employed with Sears in St. Louis, Busch’s Florist in Jefferson City. She later owned and operated her own flower shop called Loretta’s in Linn.
Loretta was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn and St. Ann’s Sodality.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, canning, spending time arranging flowers and plants. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Loretta is survived by two sons, John Rustemeyer of Linn and Dean Rustemeyer and his wife Amy of Jefferson City; one daughter, Cheryl Helmig and her husband Tim of Linn; six grandchildren, Jasmine Rustemeyer and her fiancé Trent Vanloo, Bryan (Amy) Helmig, Kyle (Andrea) Helmig, Shelley Helmig, Adam Rustemeyer, and Nicole Grefrath and her fiancé Daniel Castillo, four great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband of 57 years, Loretta was preceded in death by five brothers, Wilbert, Cornelius, Anthony, Raymond and Aloys Ellebracht and five sisters, Florence Korte, Alvera Marschner, Angela Korte, Bertha Lohman, and Jeannie Seagrass.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Rev. Anthony Onyeihe as the Celebrant. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Florissant.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
