Lois Poole

Lois Poole, age 61 of Bonnots Mill, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Westphalia Hills.

Lois was born July 14, 1952, in Poughkeepsie, NY, a daughter to the late Gordon Albert and Florence (Harden) Currier.

Lois graduated from Eisenhower High School in Poughkeepsie, NY and received a Master's Degree in English from Fredonia University in Buffalo, NY.

Lois was an ordained nondenominational minister.

Lois was a strong willed woman who loved to socialize and was easy to talk to. She was an avid equestrian and enjoyed horseback riding. She also was known to recuse stray animals and help any person in need.

Lois enjoyed photography and loved to write books. She also had two Native American names, Dancing Moon and Maheahula. Lois spent time traveling with her favorite place being Guatemala.

Lois is survived by: a daughter, Heather Grosstephan; a son, Alex Grosstephan; a daughter-in-law, Diane Sell and a grandson, Logan, all of Bonnots Mill; and one step-son, Josh Poole of Prescott, AZ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Currier.

In keeping with Lois' wishes her body has been cremated.
