Lisa A. (Clough) Rickey, age 60, of Linn, formally of Shawnee, KS, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at her mother’s residence in Linn surrounded by her loving family and long-time best friend.

 

She was born April 7, 1961, in Brookfield, Missouri to the late George William “Bill” Clough and Evelyn D. (Thudium) Clough.

 

Lisa was a 1979 graduate of Linn High School. In 1983, Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She started her teaching career in the Kansas City, Missouri School District where she was a Classroom Teacher for Grades 1-4. From there she taught in the Morgan Hunter Education Division as a Substitute Teacher for kindergarten through high school students in the Desoto, Eudora, and Leavenworth School Districts until 2014. From there, Lisa was a First Grade Teacher at William Allen White Elementary School in Kansas City, Kansas School District until she was able to move back to her hometown in Linn in 2019 and taught Fifth Grade at St. George School until her illness was found in November 2020.

 

When Lisa wasn’t teaching, she was attending her niece, nephew, and students’ sporting events. She loved reading and baking and decorating cakes for her family members’ birthdays. She always had to say “they aren’t perfect but they were made with love!” She loved spending time with her family. She always made time for others no matter what. Her most passionate hobby was her love for scrapbooking. She loved taking a week in the summer and visiting her aunt in Brookfield and spending all of their time scrapbooking. Lisa was an active member of First Baptist Church in Linn.

 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother Darien and his wife Kim of Linn, three daughters Alyssa Rickey of Linn; Maggie Manners and her husband Bill of Henderson, NV; and Anna Banks of Topeka, KS. Four grandchildren: Kira, William, and Dalton Manners and Harley Banks. Two nieces: Abigail and Colleen Clough and two nephews: Caden and Daniel Clough.

 

In addition to her father, Lisa was preceded in death by her born-asleep nephew, Gabriel Clough.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Linn.

 

Funeral services with be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Linn with Pastor David Krueger officiating. Burial services will be held at Laclede Cemetery in Laclede at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

 

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic School in Linn or First Baptist Church in Linn.
