Linus F. Rudroff

Linus F. Rudroff, age 89, of Rich Fountain, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at his son’s residence in Florissant.

Linus was born on July 6, 1929, in Rich Fountain, a son to the late Martin and Margaret (Grellner) Rudroff.

Linus attended Sacred Heart School in Rich Fountain. 

On October 25, 1949, he was united in marriage to Mildred C. (Huhn) Rudroff at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia.  She preceded him in death on August 16, 2011.

Linus was a partner with his brother, Lawrence, in a dairy farm business in Rich Fountain, in the 1950’s.  He was employed as a lab tech with McDonell-Douglas for over thirty years and self- employed as an insurance agent with Shelter Insurance for over ten years.  He retired in 1991 to his farm near Rich Fountain.

Linus was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain, the Knights of Columbus in Rich Fountain and served on the Board of Directors at Legends Bank for several years.

Linus is survived by: two sons, Alan (Patricia) Rudroff of Defiance, MO and Bruce (Donna) Rudroff of Florissant, Mo.; four daughters, Cheryl Thompson of O’Fallon, Mo., Janet (Lynn) Meyer of Godfrey, Illinois, Joy (Larry) Morris of Warrenton and Lynda (John) Carter of Wildwood; ten grandchildren, Stacey Thompson, Adam (Maria) Meyer, Catherine (Richard) Ormsby, Matthew (Karen) Rudroff, Daniel (Jennifer) Meyer, Kelly (Jeffrey) Rudroff, Andrew (Rebecca) Rudroff, Donald, Charles and Claire Carter; eight great grandchildren, Margaret Thompson, Eva, Thea and Aria Meyer, Emma, Allie and Aidan Rudroff and Grace Rudroff; one brother, Norbert (Carol) Rudroff of Rich Fountain along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife of sixty-one years, Linus, was preceded in death by three brothers, Martin (Agnes) Rudroff, Francis (Martha) Rudroff and Lawrence (Gladys) Rudroff along with one sister, Anna (Patrick) Castrop. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with Fr. Augustine Okoli as the celebrant.  Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
