Linus Raymond Kever

Linus R. Kever, age 75 of Frankenstein, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at his residence.

Linus was born February 4, 1939, in Luystown, to the late Werner H. and Legora C. (Bunch) Kever.

Linus was a 1957 graduate of Fatima High School.

On June 27, 1959, Linus was united in marriage to Florence Thoenen at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. She survives of the home.

Linus was a lifelong area resident and farmer. One of his first jobs was working for his brother at Jim Kever Construction. Linus raised crops, cattle and hogs. He enjoyed trucking for local businesses and area farmers delivering feed and hauling livestock. He also enjoyed traveling across the United States delivering his breeding livestock and visiting with the new people he met.

Linus was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in Frankenstein, a member of the Pork Producers Association, and in 1975 his family received the State Fair Farm Family of the Year award for Osage County.

Linus enjoyed mentoring area kids on his farm. He enjoyed animals, riding his four wheeler on the farm and checking the cows with his favorite dog. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his wife, Florence, and his family.

In addition to Florence, his wife of 54 years, Linus is survived by: two sons, Tom Kever and his wife Sherry of Linn and Tony Kever and his wife Paige of Frankenstein; three daughters, Donna
Backes and her husband John of Frankenstein, Denise Troesser and her husband Russell of Frankenstein, and Joyce Schaefer and her husband Joe of Jefferson City; his twin brother Leonard Kever and his wife Agnes of Frankenstein; three sisters, Sister Cathryn Kever S.S.S.F. of Frankenstein, Patricia Dickneite and her husband Dan of Mokane, and Linda Troesser and her husband David of Bonnots Mill; one sister-in-law, Anna Kever of Loose Creek; thirteen grandchildren, Danielle and Jeremy Backes, Zachary, Alicia and Tyler Troesser, Ryan and Nolan Kever, James, Samuel, and Millie Schaefer, Rylie, Alison and Nathan Kever and many nieces, nephews and numerous acquaintances.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James "Jim" Kever, and one sister, Wilma Kever.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Frankenstein. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Frankenstein with Fr. John Schmitz, Fr. I.C. Medina, and Fr. Tony Rinaldo as concelebrants. Interment will follow in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery in Frankenstein.
