Lillian Marie Nilges

Lillian Marie Nilges, age 86, of Linn, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Autumn Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility in Linn.

Lillian was born Sunday, August 27, 1922 in Linn, a daughter to the late Anton and Catherine (Luecke) Kemmer. She attended the Potts School in Linn.

On October 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Philip H. Nilges in Linn. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2009.

Lillian was a homemaker and a sales clerk at Knoerr Department Store and later Huenke's Department Store both in Linn.

She was a member of the St. George Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. She enjoyed baking and flowers.

Lillian is survived by: one son, Gary and his wife Agnes Nilges of Linn; one daughter, Phyllis Orscheln and her husband Don of Linn; four grandchildren, Andrea Bethune, Emily Late, Aaron Nilges, Andrew Orscheln and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Morton Chapel with Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
