Lester J. Hoerschgen, age 87 of Bonnots Mill died Thursday, January 31, 2008 at St Mary's Health Center.
He was born February 25, 1920 in Bonnots Mill, a son of Anton J. Hoerschgen and Odelia ""Tillie"" Schmitz, both deceased. He was married on November 19, 1947 in Jefferson City to Carolyn H. Forck who preceded him in death on January 7, 2007.
Lester attended Cadet Creek School and Immaculate Conception School. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek. Lester was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He was a turkey farmer and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include four children, Pat and husband Ted Bonnot, David and wife Jeannie Hoerschgen, Mark and wife Lisa Hoerschgen all of Bonnots Mill and Mary and husband Lester Henderson of Platte City, Mo; 14 grandchildren, Tammy and husband Roger Hartley, Tina, Kevin, Stacey, Jessica, Thomas and wife Julie Bonnot, Allison and Nathan Hoerschgen, Megan and Travis Henderson, Jennifer, Amanda, Kayla and Sara Hoerschgen; 3 great grandchildren, Lindsey and Clinton Hartley and Pryce Bonnot; 1 sister Bernice Davis of Fulton. In addition to his wife Lester was preceded in death by one son, Charles Hoerschgen and two brothers, Wilford and Francis Hoerschgen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2008 at Morton Chapel in Linn with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Church in Loose creek with Rev. Charles Pardee officiating.
Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery.
