Leonard E. Thurman, age 73 of Linn passed away Monday, January 30, 2012, at Autumn Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility.
Leonard was born November 23, 1938 in Montgomery City, a son to the late George and Ethel (Jones) Thurman.
Leonard was a graduate of Hermann High School and worked as an automotive mechanic.
Leonard attended Community Christian Church in Linn and was a member of both the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and visiting with people.
Leonard is survived by his longtime companion, Donna Butterfield of the home in Linn, two daughters, Cindy Bivens of Huntsville and Rhonda and her husband Bob Lewis of Ferguson;
three brothers, Harold (Rose) Thurman of New Florence, Butch (Dorothy) Thurman and Dan Thurman all of Montgomery City, six grandchildren, David Goble, Christine Brown, Kyle Stahl, Kevin Kreske, Roben Teter and Hanna Wells and six great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 1:45 P.M. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Morton Chapel in Linn. Masonic services will be held at 1:30 P.M.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery located near Linn with Minister Eric Braman officiating.
