Larry “Boegie” L. Haslag, age 70 of Osage City, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at his residence.
Larry was born July 13, 1946, in Jefferson City, a son of the late Raphael and Bernice (Maassen) Haslag.
Larry was a 1964 graduate of Linn High School and worked as a Sign Shop Supervisor for MODOT until his retirement in 1998. For the next ten years, Larry worked for the Department of Corrections until finally retiring for good in 2007.
Larry was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 5. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker.
Larry is survived by his longtime companion, Judy Rehagen of the home; two sons, Larry W. Haslag and his wife Tonya of Bonnots Mill and Jerry L. Haslag of Jefferson City; one brother, Howard Haslag of Mexico; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a third due in September as well as a former daughter-in-law Sandy Haslag-Ewen of the state of Illinois.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, his twin brother Henry Haslag and Donald R. Haslag; an infant sister, Darlene Haslag and a nephew, John Jake Haslag.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at St. George Parish Cemetery in Linn.
A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Osage City Bar and Grill, 9208 Railroad Street in Osage City.
In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
