Kenny Reinkemeyer, age 74, of Linn, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab Center.
Kenny was born April 12, 1949, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Henry and Carrie (Maasen) Reinkemeyer.
He was a 1967 graduate of Linn High School and graduated from Lincoln University in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
On August 7, 1971, he was united in marriage to Kathy Dingley at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. She survives of the home.
Kenny was employed as a butcher starting at U-SAV Market in Linn and then various other grocery stores in the area. He retired in 2014.
Kenny attended St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors either doing lawn work or barbequing. He also loved to watch all types of sporting events from basketball to baseball to football, but especially the St. Louis Cardinals and fast pitch softball. Playing cards and spending time with his family and friends was a favorite past time of his and he was very involved with his children’s sporting events being the first coach in the PAL’s Girls Basketball league at St. George. He also enjoyed playing catcher for his daughter while she practiced her fast pitch but he took several balls to the shins. He loved shooting hoops with his son and coaching his baseball teams.
In addition to his spouse of 52 years, he is survived by: two children, Chad Reinkemeyer of Waukesha, WI and Dara Reinkemeyer of Linn; one granddaughter, Emma Reinkemeyer; one brother, Harvey Reinkemeyer and his wife Susie of St. Louis; and one sister, Rita Rackers of Taos; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Freda Weber and Dorothy Kliethermes.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Morton Chapel with Deacon Bob Schowengerdt, officiating.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to St. George Catholic School.
