Karen Starke

Karen M. Starke, age 60 of Loose Creek, Mo died Thursday March 20, 2008 at her residence in Loose Creek.

She was born April 9, 1947 in Jefferson City, Mo, the daughter of the late Marvin Kixmiller and Bertha (Frank) Kixmiller who survives of Eldon, Mo.

She was married September 28, 1963 in Frankenstein, Mo to Martin B. Starke who preceded her in death on November 22, 1992.

Karen attended Linn High School and was employed for 27 ½ years as an auditor with the Division of Employment Security.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Roy Sone V.F.W. Post 1003 in Jefferson City, Mo. She enjoyed attending craft shows with her daughter Cindy, fishing, cooking, mushroom hunting and gardening.

Other survivors include 2 sons: Glenn Starke of Jefferson City, Mo and James Starke of Loose Creek, Mo; 1 daughter Cynthia Starke of Jefferson City, Mo; 2 brothers: Sylvester Kixmiller and Carl Kixmiller both of Linn, Mo; 2 sisters: Alverda Oppermann of St Louis, Mo and Marcella Heath of Lake Ozark, Mo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 1 sister Marilyn Blackburn and 1 brother Gary Kixmiller.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at Morton Chapel in Linn, Mo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the St. George Church, Linn, Mo . Interment will follow at St. George Church Cemetery.
