Joseph A. Doyle, age 97, of Jefferson City, formerly of St. Louis, passed away peacefully fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Jefferson City.
Joseph was born on August 25, 1920, in St. Louis, a son to the late Francis A. and Annie (Slattery) Doyle.
Joseph attended St. Louis University School of Dentistry. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a dentist.
Joseph owned and operated his own dentist office in St. Louis until his retirement. He was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, praying the rosary every day.
Joseph was a loving uncle of Rev. Francis Doyle, John P. Doyle, Mary Ann (Michael) Hackmeister, Maureen Doyle, and Roger Doyle. Loving great-uncle of Brian, Joseph, Katherine, and Michael (Amy) Hackmeister, Cathleen (Travis) Estebrooks, Roger III (Dawn) Doyle, and David Doyle. Dear great-great uncle of Aedan, Kayla, Aidan, Connor, Kate, and Sabrina. Wonderfully kind and compassionate friend to many.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his family: John C. Doyle, Mary Doyle, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Francis Doyle, Cornelius Doyle, and Roger (Mary) Doyle, Sr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., Immaculate Conception Parish Chapel (original parish church), 7701 Highway N, Dardenne Prairie, MO with his nephew Rev. Francis Doyle as the Celebrant. Interment Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
