JoEllen Hicks

JoEllen Hicks age 41 of Linn, Mo. passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Mo.

She was born June 11, 1967 in Lexington, Mo. to James L. and Joanne Gadt.

JoEllen graduated from Lexington High School in 1984. She graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. She received her Masters of Education in Administration from William Woods University.

On July 10, 1987 she was married to Kevin Hicks in Henrietta, Mo. He survives of the home.

JoEllen taught Special Education in the Dixon, Mo. School District. She served as Director of Special Services in the Osage County R-II School District and was currently serving as Linn Junior/Senior High School Principal. She was an officer with the South Central District of the Southwest Association of Secondary School Principals.

Additional survivors include one son Brian of the home. Her parents; James and Joanne Gadt of Lexington, Mo, one brother Mark and wife Janet Gadt of Greenville, NC and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Merlin and Linda Hicks of Henrietta, Mo. as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral services will be at 1:30pm Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Lexington, Mo. with the Rev. Aubrey Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the Lexington Memory Gardens.
