Jerome "Roman" A. Hoffman, age 72 of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born on June 23, 1936 in Freeburg a son to the late Henry and Veronica (Rudroff) Hoffman. He attended school in Rich Fountain.
Roman was a veteran of the United States Navy and spent one year of his military service in Nonhama, Japan.
On June 3, 1967 he was united in marriage to Donna C. Perry in Jefferson City. She survives of the home.
Roman worked as a material handler at a manufacturing company prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting, raising registered Black Angus cattle and spending time with his grandson, Zane. He was a member of the American Cattleman's Association.
In addition to his wife, Roman is survived by one daughter, Kathy Sluyter and her husband Dirk of Enon, Mo.; one brother, Raymond and his wife Connie Hoffman of O'Fallon, Mo; one grandson, Zane G. Sluyter and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain with Fr. Bill Peckman as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg.
