Janet Vossen

Johanna "Janet" Vossen, age 93 of Linn, Mo. passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

She was born September 16, 1915 in Linn to the late Mike and Rosie (Voss) Boes.

On September 1, 1938 she was united in marriage to Linus Vossen at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1966.

Janet was a member of the St. George Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, St. George Sewing Circle, Catholics Knights of America, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the VFW Post 4756 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was employed at Linn Manufacturing Company and at McGraw Edison in Jefferson City until her retirement in 1980.

Janet is survived by: two sons, Larry G. Vossen of O'Fallon, Mo and Robert R. and his wife Carol Vossen of Wentzville, Mo; one daughter, Patricia Ferrin of Jefferson City, one sister, Rose and her husband Bill Anderson of Linn; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: two sisters, Betty Wolfe and Julietta Jacquin; two brothers, Louis Boes and Joe Boes; one son-in-law, Nathan W. Ferrin and one daughter-in-law, Betty Vossen.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008 at St. George Catholic Church with Father I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. George Parish Cemetery.
