Janet Catherine Fincher

Janet C. Fincher, age 97 of Linn, Mo passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

She was born August 8, 1911 in Osage County to the late Gerhard L. and Gertrude (Boes) Voss. In her early years Janet worked as a nanny in St Louis. She was a homemaker and had been employed at Linn Manufacturing for several years. Janet was also an accomplished seamstress and had continued doing alterations up until her recent illness.

On June 20, 1933 Janet was united in marriage to Charles W. Fincher in Linn. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1997.

Janet was a member of St George Church and a member of the church's Sewing Circle. She enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing, gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Laura Mae Wolfe of Linn and Linda and her husband Steve Inglish of Jefferson City, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Donald Fincher, a grandson, Scott Fincher, two sisters, Mary Wilson and Lena Nilges and two brothers, Arthur Voss and Louie Voss.

Visitation will be 4-8pm Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00pm Sunday at St George Church in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Linn Public Cemetery.
