James “Jim” Bernard Holtschneider, age 72 of Rich Fountain, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Westphalia Hills.
Jim was born April 26, 1947, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Bernard and Shirley (Schwake) Holtschneider.
Jim attended Fatima High School. He proudly served in the United States Army.
He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 37 years.
Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain and American Legion Post #317 in Freeburg.
Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Jim is survived by: three sisters, Elizabeth Groner and her husband Clem of Westphalia, Judith Stratman of Rich Fountain and Christine Reichel and her husband Gary of Rich Fountain; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Holtschneider in 1970 and David Holtschneider in 2006.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. William Debo as the celebrant. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with full Military Honors.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
