James E Boessen

James Edward Boessen, age 70 of Loose Creek, Mo passed away Friday, July 4, 2008 at the Westphalia Retirement Center.

He was born on December 2, 1937 in Loose Creek to the late Joseph E. and Annie (Lock) Boessen. He was a graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia.

On May 28, 1993 he was married to Alma Strein in Loose Creek. She survives of the home.

Jim was a very loving and caring husband, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. He was a prominent member of the Loose Creek Community and was always giving of his time and talent for betterment. He was a farmer and worked a number of years for Twehous Excavating Company.

Jim was a lifelong and active member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek and also a Golden Eagle of F.O. E. #2693 in Jefferson City.

He had a special talent for woodworking and made many beautiful pieces of furniture. He enjoyed story telling as well as card playing.

Jim never met a stranger. He was a people person, with his quick wit he always had a story to make you laugh.

Jim leaves a legacy of hard work, generosity, kind heartedness and a sweet spirit. There will be a void in the hearts of those who loved him so dearly.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a step-son George E. and wife Connie Birdsong of Savannah, Mo. and one sister, Laurine Boessen of Loose Creek as well as many nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Harry and Ralph Boessen.

Visitation will be 4pm-8pm Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.

Memorial donation may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
