James "Jim" A. Boes, age 61 of Rich Fountain, Mo. passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
Jim was born on February 25, 1947 in Jefferson City, MO to Linus and Marie (Krieg) Boes who preceded him in death.
Jim graduated in 1965 from Fatima High School in Westphalia. He then attended Rankin Technical Institute in St. Louis for two years. He was employed at Steinmetz Automotive as a machinist for the past 19 years.
He enjoyed farming and baking pies and cookies. He was an enthusiastic participant in the Relay for Life program and loved spending time with his many friends. Jim was an active member of the Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include: two brothers, Dave and his wife Joy Boes of Midland, TX, Gary and his wife Cheryl Boes of Westphalia; two sisters, Mary and her husband Ken Knoll of Koelztown, Mo., Carmen and her husband Bervis Munday of Springfield, Mo., several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Richard who passed away in 1968.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Sacred Heart Church in Rich Fountain with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Bill Peckman as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
