Ida Mae Frontera, 94 of Linn, Mo passed away on Wednesday September 3, 2008 at Autumn Meadows in Linn.
She was born on June 29, 1914 in Kansas City, Mo to the late Jesse and Alma Isabella (Jones) Henry.
When Ida Mae was sixteen years old she was named "Little Miss Dixie" in a beauty contest in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Winning this contest gave her the self confidence that she maintained throughout her life.
She had worked as a clerk typist for the Federal Government in Washington D.C. before retiring in 1980.
She enjoyed traveling, reading and embroidery. She attended the Central Baptist Church in Jefferson City.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Wolfe of Linn, one brother Dan and his wife Maitland Henry of Sandersville, GA., two grandchildren Karen and her husband Doug Carlin of Linn and James Tracy and his wife Debbie Wolfe of Eureka, Mo, seven great grandchildren, Tim Hamburg, Nick Nilges, Andy Wolfe, Cassie Wolfe, and Bobby, Darren and Ryan Pursifull and two great great grandchildren, Kylie Wolfe and Tanner Hackmann. She was preceded in death by one daughter, June Knight Huston and one sister Hester Gatling.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Morton Chapel with Rev.Ted Huston officiating. Interment will follow in the Solid Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
