Herman B. Voss, age 96 of Linn passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Westphalia Retirement Center.
He was born December 10, 1913, one of twelve children born to George W. and Catherine (Obermark) Voss.
Herman was a life-long resident of Osage County.
On September 25, 1940 Herman was united in marriage to Marie Richardson in Linn. She survives at the Westphalia Retirement Center.
Herman was a farmer in Linn, owned Al's CafAC. in Linn and Cricket's CafAC. in Loose Creek.
He also worked at the Missouri Department of Corrections until his retirement in 1982.
In addition to his wife Marie, Herman is survived by: two sons, Randy and his wife Becky Voss of Linn and Alan and his wife Gloria Voss of Jefferson City; two daughters, Sandra Lock and her husband Eugene of Linn and Anita Starke and her husband Mike of Overland Park, KS; one sister, Catherine Bock of Westphalia; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son Carl Albert who passed away in 1947.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Morton Chapel in Linn with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Mark Smith as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. George Cemetery.
