Henry “Hank” J. Reinkemeyer, age 88, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Jefferson City.

Hank was born on November 21, 1935, in St. Louis, a son to the late Henry H. and Hildagarde (Merz) Reinkemeyer.

Hank was a 1953 graduate of St. Louis University High School.

On May 12, 1956, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Betty” Rebello at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in St. Louis County. Betty survives in Linn.

Hank was employed for the United States Postal Service for 34 and a half years retiring in 1990. He started in downtown St. Louis and later transferred to being a rural mail carrier in O’Fallon. 

Hank was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, and the Missouri Rural Carrier Association. He volunteered at the Good Shepherd Food Pantry in Linn for 18 years. 

Hank enjoyed collecting stamps, bowling, farming and raising cattle. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Hank is survived by his five children, Tony Reinkemeyer and his wife Cheryl of Linn, John Reinkemeyer and his wife Nancy of Linn, Ann Zaleuka and her husband Tom of New Melle, Deacon Bob Reinkemeyer and his wife Lisa of Syracuse, and Mary Barger and her husband John of O’Fallon; twenty grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his two sisters, Delores Laposha and Barbara King. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Colin Franklin, and Fr. Daniel Merz as the Concelebrants and his son, Deacon Bob Reinkemeyer assisting. Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic School.
