Helen H. Schmitz

Helen H. Schmitz, age 88 of Loose Creek, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at Autumn Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility in Linn.

Helen was born on November 29, 1922, in Loose Creek, a daughter to the late Gerad and Tillie (Troesser) Bolten.

On November 27, 1943, Helen was united in marriage to Cletus J. Schmitz. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2010.

Helen was a lifelong area resident of Loose Creek and had worked at the Governor's Hotel in Jefferson City for over 12 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by: two sons, Gary Schmitz of Columbia and Gerald Schmitz of Jefferson City, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: two sons, James and Allen Schmitz, two brothers, Sonny and Kenneth Bolten; and one sister, Mabel Thompson.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
