Grace Linhardt, age 89, of Linn formerly of Freedom, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 05, 2017, at Linn Living and Rehab Center in Linn.
Grace was born on July 12, 1928, in Bland, a daughter to the late Louis and Annie (Meier) Bentlage.
Grace was united in marriage on November 2, 1951, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Ervin “Dick” F. Linhardt, who preceded her in death on October 29, 2005.
Grace was employed at International Shoe Factory in Bland for a couple of years.
Grace was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Freedom where she was President of Ladies Aid for several years. She then transferred her membership to St. John Lutheran Church in Drake where she continued to be active in her church. She was also a member of Owensville Station 2 Fire Department in Mount Sterling Auxiliary Group. Grace always put the needs of others before her own. She never turned anyone away.
Grace was an excellent cook, baker, and gardener. She loved fixing dinners for her family. Grace enjoyed quilting, gardening, embroidering, watching humming birds, drawing, and coloring. Grace always had a smile on her face.
Grace is survived by: three sons, Dwight Linhardt and his wife Rita of Bonnots Mill, Michael Linhardt and his wife Cheryl of Linn and David Linhardt of Linn; six grandchildren, Amy Phillips, Richard Linhardt and Wife Chrissy, Shannon Linhardt and fiancée Angel, Cody Linhardt and wife Shelly, Bret Kliethermes and wife Becky, and Josh Kliethermes; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, George Bentlage of Belle; one sister, Alma Merhoff and Willard of Bland along with several other nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband of fifty-three years, Grace was preceded in death by: one brother; Leo Bentlage.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Morton Chapel in Linn and on Friday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Drake.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Drake with Pastor Paul Landgraf officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Drake.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Drake.
