Glynn C. Dennis, Jr., 75, of Linn, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, at his residence near Linn.
Glynn was born on October 26, 1942, in St. Louis, a son to the late Glynn Curtis Dennis, Sr., and Dorothy V. (Hargen) Dennis.
Glynn was a 1960 graduate of Florissant High School.
On March 15, 1980, at United Church of Christ in Florissant, Glynn was united in marriage to Reta (Baumgartner) Laffoon-Dennis, who survives at their home.
Glynn was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, a member of Linn Rural Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Board of Directors for the fire department, scoutmaster for the Linn boy scouts and past member of the Osage County Ambulance District.
Glynn was employed as an auto parts clerk in several different auto parts stores in Florissant, Linn and Jefferson City. When he was not working he enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing with his buddies, farming and cb radios. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his granddaughter, Alexa with her equine activities.
In addition to his wife of thirty-seven years, Glynn is survived by two sons, Bruce Dennis and his wife Robyn of Hazelwood and Glynn C. Dennis, III and his wife Julie of Catawissa; daughter, Heather Irvin and her husband Lance of Jefferson City; two step sons, Sam Laffoon and his wife Michelle of Linn and Steven Laffoon and his wife Jerri of Linn; nine grandchildren, Alexa Boughan, Garrett Sommerer, Eric Lane, Joshua Dennis, Andrea Laffoon, Corrie Evans, Joseph, Steven and Kirstyn Laffoon along with two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Glynn was preceded in death by: step-daughter, Donna Laffoon and a grandson, Logan Lamm.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Morton Chapel in Linn with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Daniel J. Merz, officiating. interment will be held in Pointers Creek Cemetery near Linn.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Pointers Creek Cemetery or to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
